Global Air Navigation Plan

Global Air Navigation Plan (SP)

The Global Air Navigation Plan (GANP) is the highest air navigation strategic document of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). It aims to drive the evolution of the global air navigation system, in line with the Global Air Traffic Management Operating Concept (GATMOC) and the Manual on Air Traffic Management System Requirements.

GANP brings together the aviation community to achieve an agile, safe, sustainable and high-performance global air navigation system. It is organized in a multi-layered structure, tailored to different audiences:

  1. Global Level (Strategic Technical): Defines the strategic vision and general objectives.
  2. Regional Level: Provides a framework for the alignment of regional, subregional and national plans.
  3. National Level: Adapted to the specific needs of each country.

ICAO's Global Plans also include the Global Air Navigation Plan (Doc 9750), which plays a key role in achieving ICAO's strategic objectives and supporting the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

This plan guides the evolution of the global air navigation system and is developed in collaboration with stakeholders for the benefit of the entire aviation community..

GANP is essential to ensure safe, efficient and globally coordinated air navigation.
